African Elephants in danger

On Tuesday, the class attended a workshop on animal trafficking, specifically, African Elephants. The militias of Uganda and crossing boarders and poaching elephants for their Ivory. Trinkets are made from this Ivory and although China is the number one consumer, the US is the number two consumper of Elephant Ivory.

Elephants are dying, dedicated park rangers are dying, and mass slaughter is funded by this atrocity. All for ivory toothpicks, bookmarks and cruxifices.

China has a clever ad campaign out to reduced the cache of consuming ivory. They are works of art in themselves. I wonder who the consumers in the US are?
